Domestic Bliss

Hello Lovelies,

I was just sitting around earlier when I began to ponder the idea of "domestic bliss". Is it a myth? Have we achieved it? Will we ever?

I think I have the answer, domestic bliss does exist, but in fleeting precious moments. It is not a level you attain and forever are at optimum happiness because life is simply not like that. Emotions are fleeting and ever changing, soo is life, health, fashion, money etc. Nothing is constant soo the idea that some magical people live in a constant existant of bliss is ridiculous.

Me and my soon to be husband have a fantastic relationship, we love each other more than we can say, we have a house together and two dogs and in a couple of months we will be married. Does that mean we don't fight? Of course not! We bicker, we shout, cry. But we also cuddle and kiss, watch movies together, cook for each other, look after each other. In all we love each other, we accept each others faults and love them because thats what makes us the people we are and our relationship what it is.

Love is magical, but it is by no means perfect and that is what makes it soo special. At times we have domestic bliss and at times domestic chaos! But I wouldnt have it any other way!

As always I'd love to hear  what you have to say, leave me a comment?

My Anniversary

Hello Lovelies
Soo yesterday was mine and my Reece's one year anniversary of being engaged! I really don't know where the time has gone!

Soo we had a lovely day, I woke up to some beautiful flowers and a lovely champagne flute, (he knows I love my bubbles hehe) as well as an adorable card!

We then headed off for a day at Meadow Hall as planned we had a lovely day although Reece did not enjoy his first try of sushi (the photo was taken before we started eating oops!) I however loved it as usual Yo! is my favourite meal out.

Halfway through the trip though we hit Lush! Their christmas range is soo soo adorable but I resisted and managed to contain myself to three of they're new solid bath oils and are just £2 each. As I came out though I noticed Reece and half the staff we're giggling as I professed how restrained I had been, spending just £6 in one of my favourite ever shops! It was then that i noticed the BIG Lush bag hanging on the back of my wheelchair that had been there for around twenty minutes while I was sniffing bath bombs and trying out massage bars! He got me the Bella Fruita gift set in secret and all the staff were in on it, they all knew it was our anniversary!

The gift set is gorgeous and smells divine! It contains (all of which by chance I have never got around to trying, I'm a serial buyer of anything with the Karma fragrance): Avobath bath balistic, Sympathy for the Skin, A mini Comforter Bubble bar, Miranda soap, You've been Mangoed bath melt (which I just bought the new bath oil version of because I LOVED the scent) and Red Fun!.

Finally Reece convinced me to treat myself to a new MAC lipstick, after a long deliberation a plumped for Merh, a gorgeous pinky, brown toned nude if that makes any sense haha).

Finally exhausted from our escapades we curled up at home in front of the tele together, enjoying each others company, well until he realised I'd bought him Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, and preordered Black Ops 3.... (buys me some me time hehe).

I hope your having a lovely day/evening (sorry for the late upload)
Leave me a message in the comments I'd love to hear from you! If you fancy you could even give me a cheeky follow? Pretty please hehe?

Lots of love

Yet another apology...

Hello lovelies,

Again I am coming back to you with an apology for lack of posts. My dad who I am very close with was suddenly rushed into hospital last week. I have been spending every minute I can on the ward with him and I am glad to say he seems to be firmly on the mend.

I hope you will be understnading if my posts are a bit hit and miss in terms of upload times but I will try to get a good number of posts up as and when I have time.

Hopefully I will see you with another post tommorow.

Until next time
Lots of love

Apologies!

Hello Lovelies,

I apologies  soo much for the missing posts of late but I have been *shock horror* without internet. For a few weeks and I ran out of scheduled posts!

Soo I suppose this post should be a little list of things I've been up to with no access to internet!

1) 💑 Talking to my partner! Something that I think often gets neglected and it has been really lovely to just sit and chat of an evening. Something I hope will continue (we picked our first dance!).

2) ✂️ Crochet. I love to knit and crochet and most other crafts tbh, but since having no internet and my issues of The Art of Crochet to hand I have been unstopable! Although my brother-in-law is convinced I'm turning into a pensioner 😂

3) 🍲 Cooking, when I have the energy I have really been enjoying cooking for Reece, I've been doing simple things like Chilli and stew, but he's seems to have survived the expierience and even had a smile on his face! I can't wait for the oven to be put in soo I can get baking!

4) 💅🏻 Playing with make-up, I've been trying out a few new make-up looks even though most of the time I haven't been going out, but sometimes its just nice to feel a little bit done up when your not feeling your best!

5) ❓ Training my new friend! I will introduce him to you all soon in a seperate post, but he has been keeping me company and we have been getting to know each other, (he's not a human-person, although he is my little child 😉)  #CliffhangerThatNobodyIsReallyBotheredAbout.

Again sorry for the lack of posts, posts will resume as normal on Monday, and I considering doing an informal Sunday catch up maybe? Tell me if you would like to read something like that in the comments? What are your faveourite things to do when the *gulp* the internet goes down?

See you soon

Lots of love

Autumn Candle Haul

Hello Lovelies,

Well as blogging settings go todays is not a bad one sitting in the window of Starbucks watching the world go by (well the world of Meadowhall) and as we enter into the month of October (where did the year go?) its time for cosy nights in and of course that includes candles in lovely autumn/wintery scents!.

I went to one of my favourite places for candles, which suprisingly is Homebase. These big jar candles come in at just £2.99 each!! And they scent my house out like nothing else, they also have more complex and unusual scents that the average cheaper end homeware brand, (it wasnt just cinnamon or vanilla, or the most exotic spiced apple).

The first candle I got was Spiced clove and sandalwood, which despite the name is much more fresh and woody than spicey. It has a lovely balance and smells very crisp and clean. It reminds me of christmas trees and long walks in through the forest in the snow.

The second is Blackwood and amber which is a warm, complex, spicy scent. It has notes of pepper and musk. I find this the most autumnal of the three (the other leaning towards more winter/christmas) and it will be the first one I start burning, possibly tonight as my current candle is on its last legs.

The last is the most christmassy of the three, Frankinscense and Mhyrr. To start with the candle is a gorgeous pale gold colour and the smell is just incredible (can you tell its my faveourite 😉). Its spicy and musky, with notes of oud and incense.

Do you have any current candle favourites? I feel I could maybe treat myself to one higher end one for autumn/winter, but which one? I really like woodwick and I think the crackling wick is perfect for the time of year.

Have a good weekend, leave me a comment telling me what your upto!

September Non-Beauty Favourites

I'm Back...

Okay soo I heavily hinted earlier about a possible sneaky second post and here it is. I'm going to do my non-beauty/random favourites soo off we go (in no particular order).

1) Soothers.
I have had a bad cold this month and these little beauties have been a life saver. If you dont know these are boiled sweets with soothing liquid centres, they taste good and really ease a
sore throat.
2) A Song of Ice and Fire.
These are the book series on which the TV series Game of Thrones is based. They are so, so gripping I just can't wait to climb into bed and get stuck into one of these books (no spoilers please I'm only on book two and have deliberately avoided the TV show).

3) Downton Abbey
How could this not be my TV favourite? I've followed this show since the start and as it enters the final stretch *cries* I am glued to my TV screen (ITV 9pm) laughing, crying and shouting along to all the drama. if you have never watched it I highly recommend you do!!

4) How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful- Florence and the Machine
I've always loved Florence and the Machine and they're third album does not dissapoint, full of soulful melodies and haunting lyrics. It has to be my music favourite this month.

I hope you've enjoyed a read though some of my favourite things of this month. Leave me a comment of some of your favourite things I love reading your comments.

Lots of Love

September Favourites!

Hello Lovelies,

Soo today is the last of the month soo in keeping with the status quo it's time for my monthly favourites, I shall endeavor to do one every month (as the term monthly would suggest). Soo without further ado *takes a deep breath* here we go...

Lets start with skincare I only have one this month and that is possibly my favourite skincare product of all time, Liz Earle's Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion. It's such a simple idea, in a morning you just pop a bit on two cotton pads and sweep it over the eye area, (I love to just gently press them over my eyes to get the whole benefit), it feels like I have used eyedrops in my eyes and a light moisturiser over my entire eye area. It gets rid of the itchy, dry, stingy eyes I get in a morning. It also removes all traces of sleep from my eyes and refreshes me ready to face the day! It costs £14 and is available here.

Next onto make-up and I have two favourites this month.

First up is a mascara from Avon. The Mega Effects Mascara is a new product and is a very different shape to the standard mascara. The brush is on its side soo the whole thing is shaped almost like a spoon which I actually found very easy to use although it is rather easy to get the product on the lids or underneath the eye when applying. The brush is made up of quite long defined rubber bristles of varying lengths, and the product and brush provide to me the perfect balance of seperation, length and volume, which to me is a bold claim that seldom rings true. This time however Avon have hit and excelled the very high bar they set for themselves! It is priced at £10 and is avaliable here

My second make-up favourite is an autumn staple in my make-up bag, Topshops lipstick in Wicked. The formula is lovely, creamy and pigmented and the colour is a gorgeous, rich berry perfect as we head towards those colder months. It is priced at £8 but students get a 10% discount, it is avaliable here

For body care I have been loving Soap and Glory's The Breakfast Scrub. It's fine granules exfoliate effectively withotu being too harsh ad leaves behind just enough residue to leave your skin feeling soft without being greasy. But one of my favourite things about this scrub is the smell! It smells like a sweet bananas, maple syrup and oatmeal which I love although it is too sweet for some people but I love it. It comes in at £8 and is avaliable here

Keep your eyes peeled later tonight as they're might be a sneaky bonus post, don't forget to hit that suscribe button if you want to stay up to date with all my rambles through the world of beauty, lifestyle and the rest.

Being Yourself!

Hiya sweeties,
I apologies for my consistantly inconsistant posting, I have recently moved house and now things are starting to be far more settled. With any luck my new posting schedule will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with possibly the occasional sneaky Sunday post nestled in here and there.

Todays post is inspired (but in no way sponsored) by GAP and the wonderful Ellen Degeneres, they have launched a collaboration range, boasting the message that people can be and do whatever they want to, without fear of judgement.

The campaign features six young girls who have all excelled in various non "traditional" disciplines including drumming, robotics and skateboarding.
The message is you don't have to be a sheep, just following the crowd, doing things just because it's the "done thing".

Being an individual is hard. It's soo much easier to do what everyone else is doing but it won't make you truly happy, what will make you happy is doing the things that you love. I'm not getting at any activity or trend at all. If your'e a belieber or a directioner good for you don't let anyone call you for it, if you're a girl and you like all things "girly" like make-up and fashion and hate getting muddy great, but if your dream is to play football do it! If you like to put on your make-up and heels after your MMA session do it!

People are not made to be put into boxes and labelled, you can enjoy as many or as few activites as you like. The important thing is that you do what makes you you.

I hope that has given you a little something to think about on a monday evening.
Lots of Love

I little summer beauty haul #feelingspendy

Hello lovelies,
The other day I made the disastrous decision when going to pick up my new macbook (eeek!). To have a little look in the other shops in my local shopping centre (Kingsgate, Hudddersfield if you were wondering). It's only tiny and so as a consequence I usually head for the bigger Meadow Hall or Trafford centre, but I hadn't been to Kingsgate for ages soo thought I'd give it a look. The damage done can be seen below...

First up was The Bodyshop which had a sale on (look how much I saved!!) plus I have a discount card soo I dont think it was too naughty...

Firstly I got some shower gels which to be fair I didnt have any backs up of, I am OBSESSED with the sweet lemon limited edition scent and have been trying to get hold of the shower gel as I have everything else (thanks to my darling fiance). So when I saw them on sale I had to buy two right?

I also bought the English Dawn White Gardenia fragrance which is the most gorgeous, fresh, floral scent I have ever owned, plus the bottle is pretty stunning and will look lovely on my dressing table. Bodyshop fragnrances have such strong, lasting power, especially for there price (I got this on sale for £10!).

Lastly was a make-up item the Bodyshop, Smokey Plum, Eye Definer. which when swatched I find to be more of a browm with a subtle purple shimmer running through it, it is very soft and pigmented. I love the smudger on the other end which is a lovely addition, great for streamlining your make-up bag.
Smokey Plum,  Eye Definer.
I then bobbed into Topshop to pick up an item in their limited edition Five Year anniversary rose gold packaging (what a mouthful). I hadn't got round to going earlier soo they were low on products in the rose gold, but I found a lipstick I wanted in the shade Innocent, a lovely pale "barbie" style pink.

Such lovely packaging.
Shade; Innocent
I then picked up a Sheer Lips in the shade "Play With Fire", a lovely peachy, coral it adds a subtle but noticeable wash of moisturising colour.
